Siding is the part of your house that takes the weather full in the face. In North Texas that means UV that fades and embrittles, hail that cracks and dents, and humidity swings that work at every seam. Replacing it changes how the house looks — and, done properly, how much it costs to cool.

  • Insurance-aware

Hail damages siding as readily as roofing. If it is claimable we will document it as part of the same claim.

  • Rot addressed, not covered

We open up and repair damaged sheathing before new siding goes on.

  • One contractor, whole envelope

Siding, roof, gutters and trim handled together — no coordinating three trades.

Signs your siding needs attention

  • Cracks, splits or holes, particularly after hail
  • Warping or buckling, which usually means moisture behind the panel
  • Paint that will not last — repainting every few years typically means the substrate is failing, not the paint
  • Soft spots under moderate pressure, indicating rot in the material or the sheathing
  • Rising energy bills alongside draughts near exterior walls
  • Visible gaps at seams, corners or penetrations, where water gets in
  • Fungus, mould or algae growth, a reliable sign of trapped moisture

Materials we install

Fibre cement. Our most-recommended option for this climate. It handles heat and humidity swings without moving much, resists hail better than vinyl, will not burn, and holds paint for a long time. Heavier and more labour-intensive to install, which is reflected in the price.

Engineered wood. The look of real timber with better dimensional stability and lower weight. A good middle option.

Vinyl. The most affordable, low maintenance, and much improved from older generations. Sustained North Texas sun is still harder on it than on fibre cement.

Metal. Durable, contemporary, and a sound choice on modern elevations.

What goes on behind the siding

This is the part homeowners never see and the part that determines whether the job lasts.

When the old siding comes off, the sheathing underneath is exposed. If water has been getting in — around windows, at failed flashing, behind a leaking gutter — the damage is there, and we will show it to you. Covering rotten sheathing with new siding buys a few years and a much larger bill later.

Then the weather barrier: house wrap correctly lapped, and flashing properly detailed at every window, door and penetration. Most siding failures we are called out to are not siding failures at all. They are flashing details that were never done right.

Storm damage and insurance

Hail that damages your roof has almost certainly hit your siding too, and it belongs on the same claim. Adjusters do not always inspect elevations as thoroughly as the roof, which is why we photograph all of it.

If you are dealing with a storm, see storm damage and insurance claims. Also worth reading: replace your house siding.

How a siding job runs

  1. Inspection

Existing siding, trim, sheathing and any moisture damage behind it.

  2. Material and colour selection

Real samples, viewed against your roof and trim. HOA documentation prepared where needed.

  3. Tear-off and repair

Old siding removed, sheathing inspected, damaged sections replaced.

  4. Weather barrier

House wrap and flashing detailed correctly at windows, doors and penetrations.

  5. Installation and trim

Siding hung with proper expansion allowance, then trim, corners and caulking.

Frequently asked questions

What siding is best for the Texas climate?
Fibre cement performs particularly well here — dimensionally stable through big temperature swings, non-combustible, and it holds paint far longer than wood. Engineered wood gives a similar look at lower weight and cost. Vinyl is the budget option and has improved, but sustained direct sun is harder on it than on the alternatives.
Can hail damage siding?
Yes, and it frequently does. Vinyl cracks and punctures; aluminium dents; fibre cement chips. Siding damage is also one of the more reliable indicators of hail severity, which is why we photograph it as part of any storm assessment even when the call was about the roof.
Will new siding lower my energy bills?
It can, though the siding itself is rarely the main factor. The larger gains come from what goes on at the same time — correcting the weather barrier, sealing air leaks, and adding insulation where the wall is open. That is work you can only sensibly do while the siding is off.
How long does a siding job take?
Typically several days to a week for an average home, depending on size, how much sheathing repair is needed once we open it up, and the weather. We will give you a realistic schedule up front and tell you promptly if what we find behind the old siding changes it.
Do you repair siding as well as replace it?
Yes, where repair makes sense. The honest caveat is colour matching — siding fades, so a repaired section on an older wall can show. On a discreet elevation that is often fine; on the front of the house it usually is not, and we will say so.
